Laser treatment

Laser treatment for red spots, brown spots

Red spots on your face are most often spider angiomas or haemangiomas. Most of the time those red spots are the first things people see on your face. They could look like pimples or can be just like the redness that shows through the epidermis and draws attention. Red spots are caused by broken or inflamed small blood vessels called capillaries. The laser light penetrates the skin and is absorbed by the red pigment in these small blood vessels. This absorption results in heat and the heat coagulates the vessel. Because it is now shrunken and no longer carries blood, the redness goes away.

Laser treatment for varicose and spider veins

Varicose veins are the result of circulatory problems. They are enlarged, twisted veins which are visible under the surface of the skin and most often appear on the legs and ankles. They are usually blue or purple in color. Blood circulates from the heart to the legs via arteries and back to the heart through veins. Veins have one-way valves which allow blood to return from the legs against gravity. If the valves leak, blood may pool in the leg veins which will become enlarged or varicose. Most patients who seek treatments for this skin condition do it because it is unsightly and can be physically painful and this is when a laser comes in handy.

A laser varicose vein treatment is a minimally invasive treatment that uses laser energy to burn and close abnormally enlarged veins in the legs or ankles. The faulty vessels will be sealed off, slowly fade and finally disappear. Blood flow will then get immediately diverted to nearby healthy veins. Lasers are very direct and accurate and only damage the area being treated. All skin types and colors can be safely treated with lasers.

Laser treatment for hair removal

Laser hair removal treatment is a non-invasive, gentle technique that reduces undesirable hair from most parts of the body with minimal discomfort. It is effectively used to treat larger area because it works on more than one hair at a time. It also leaves your skin a more uniform color and complexion.

The laser hair removal treatment uses the laser beam that passes through the skin and sends through energy down the hair shaft and hair follicles in the deeper layer of the skin. Once hair follicles in the active growth phase absorb the laser energy, they are disabled. In most cases, the hair follicles in dormant phase are not affected by the treatment. And because not all hair follicles are active at the same time, multiple sessions of treatment might be required.

 
 Laser resurfacing

Laser resurfacing or “laser peel,” uses laser energy to remove and destroy specific layers of damaged or wrinkled skin. The procedure is most commonly used to minimize the appearance of fine lines, especially around the mouth and the eyes. It is also effective in treating facial scars or areas of uneven pigmentation. The main goals of laser skin resurfacing are to make the skin tighter, smoother and more even in tone, texture, and color. Because the outer layers of damaged skin are removed, new cells will be formed during the natural healing process and result in smoother, tighter, younger-looking skin.

The laser resurfacing procedure can correct skin imperfections,including wrinkles, loose skin, scars, acne scars, spider veins, enlarged pores, rough skin texture, dark spots or skin hyperpigmentation, unwanted tattoos or birthmarks.

 
 Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) skin treatments for facial rejuvenation

Intense Pulsed Light treatments are an effective, non-invasive procedures that are used to permanently remove, reduce or improve various skin conditions. IPL uses specific wavelengths of light which convert to heat and are absorbed by pigments or vessels that are responsible for skin conditions such as age spots, freckles, brown pigments and redness caused by broken capillaries. The heat then selectively damages the target cells while leaving the surrounding skin unaffected. IPL can be used on the hands, neck, and chest as well as the face.

IPL improves the skin conditions through the photorejuvenation process. The treatment usually takes from fifteen to thirty minutes. Patients can return to their usual lifestyle right away after the process. There is usually no discomfort though patients sometimes could have some redness for a few hours, the process does not have downtime and has a very low risk of side effects.

 
 Active FX (Fraxel)

The Fraxel laser is a non-invasive laser treatment that can treat age spots, fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, blood vessels or acne scars. It is called the “Fraxel” because it treats only a fraction of the skin at a time. By only treating a fraction of your skin at a time, your skin can heal much faster than when all of your skin is treated at once. The skin is made up of different layers: the epidermis, dermis, collagen, and elastin. Collagen and elastin are proteins that keep your skin youthful, firm, and tight. As you age, your body starts to lose its collagen and elasticity which result in wrinkles, lines and sagging skin. The Fraxel laser penetrates into the layers of the skin and stimulates new collagen production and cell renewal process. The result is radiant, tighter and healthier skin that will definitely makes you look younger.

  
 Chemical peels

Chemical peels share the same basics with Laser skin treatments, but make use of chemicals such as Alpha hydroxyl acids, fruit or sugar based acids, Salicylic acid or Trichloroacetic acid, instead of a laser.

Chemical peels work by removing the layer of damaged and discolored skin so the fresh new skin reveals. By forcing the turnover of the cells, the old dull and damaged cells peel off much more quickly. Chemical peels are most often used to treat fine lines, brown spots, sun damage, active acne and acne scars. A series of chemical peels treatment are usually required to achieve the optimal results of bright and rejuvenated skin with lightening of unwanted spots.

 
BOTOX Cosmetic injections for facial wrinkles

Botox is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures performed these days to soften the signs of aging. Botox is most often used to effectively treat wrinkles around the eyes or lips, frown wrinkles,forhead wrinkles, glabellar folds (vertical wrinkling between the eyebrows)and those notorious crow’s feet. It can sometimes be used to reduce lines in the neck, to decrease a gummy smile, or to minimize unappealing appearance of the chin muscles.

Botox is a purified protein (Botulinum Toxin) that is injected as a clear solution into the facial muscles responsible for the formation of wrinkles. The amount of Botulinum toxin used is small and extremely safe. The toxin reversibly relaxes and weakens the muscles and results in a healthier, more youthful appearance.
